Everest
First thing that caught our interest about this project was that we were able to create the summit of mount Everest in 3D based on real references so it was amazing and it felt so real.
This was A documentary film about climbing mount Everest and we were brought in to create some 3D scenes that needed to be insert in the middle of some climber’s interviews.
we in FATCAT studied the references including aerial shots, images and footages and created the summit of the mount Everest and its environment all as a 3D model first, then we worked on the lighting, texture to look realistic CGI especially the powdered snow on the surface.
On the other scene the climber was talking about the breakup of Yugoslavia so we created the border lines a beautiful Bird’s-eye view of the European countries and get to the top of the Kosovo by a smooth zoom in transition.
Everest documentary considers as a very fair price project otherwise it could be done much better than this potentially. So the producer was surprised by the outcome that was beyond his team’s expectation and FATCAT was so happy to hear that at the end of the project.
